Aurangabad
A set of Buddhist rock-cut caves dating to the 6th-7th century CE, carved into a hillside within Aurangabad city itself. Smaller and far less crowded than Ellora, the caves are known for their intricate sculptures, particularly the Tara figures in Cave 7, and make an easy add-on to a city sightseeing day.
